World War I. - II.
Injuries suffered during the first World War had not even healed in the soul of the inhabitants. Inhabitants of Várpalota again got a taste of the pains and sufferings of war. In Autumn 1944 battle events of the second World War reached our settlement: local plants and mainly the Pét Oil Refinery became important targets of increasingly frequent air raids.
