This is how Palota fell into the hands of one of the most notorious robber knights of the era. There were several protests in connection with the case.
János Szapolyai voivode of Transylvania lay claim to Palota referring to a mutual succession agreement with Lőrinc Újlaki. Finally, in 1526 Parliament decided in the question of Palota's possession and granted the demand of János Szapolyai.
