Sporting life in the past
We can speak of the creation of sporting life from the 1920's. The first Gymnastics Circle was founded by Jenő Suha. At the beginning of the last century they favoured running, long jump, high jump and football most. In 1936 they inaugurated a swimming pool. New sections and associations were continuously formed. Várpalota was one of the citadels of rural cycling sport. Handball also has a long tradition.
