St. Andrä
The rank of St. Andrä, the former bishop's seat is still reflected in its artistically beautiful buildings and fine art treasures. One of the oldest settlements in Carinthia, was already inhabited in 860. It received town rights from the pope in the second half of the 13th Century. The bishop's residence was created in the 17th Century which is known as "Elisabeth house" today. Outstanding characteristics of the town's panorama are the two St. Andrä churches, the splendid, baroque place of pilgrimage and the Mary of Loretto nuptial church.
The parish church bears the name of Saint Andrew and was built in a gothic style.
