History of the settlement

There were already people living here in 3200-2800 B.C. References to Pét from the time of the Hungarian conquest can be found in Anonymus' Gesta Hungarorum. The first mentioning in a charter is from king László I in 1082.
Since 1864 the development of Pét was assisted by the hot water spa where a bath was constructed.
The saltpetre factory was built in 1932. Inftastructure developed.

Sights, events

The Saint László Roman Catholic church was built in 1940. The wooden bell-tower and panelled ceiling recall elements of Transylvanian church building.
The ice rink is open from November to March, the swimming pool can be visited from June to September, the automatic bowling alley can be used all the year round.
