Várpalotai Bányász Sportkör (Várpalota Miners Sport Circle)
Competition sports have long traditions in Várpalota in which the Miners Sport Circle founded in 1927 plays a leading role. At present the town's decisive is first league B class handball and county first class football. Table tennis and fencing sections also work within the sport circle.
Keeping up high standard in competition sport is becoming more difficult because of financial problems.
