Trade unions rallied employees in their ranks. in the 1970s there was a trade union committee in every workplace.
Democracy that came with the change in regime greatly decreased the number of trade union members, safeguarding of interests usually works at larger employers. Its leaders are joined by the Federation of Employees. Employers founded the Federation of Employers.
