St. Georgen is situated in the southern part of the Lavant valley between the Lavant and the Koralpe mountain. Inhabitants mainly deal with fruit production but lately many service companies have settled in the region. Green tourism is a prominent branch of tourism. The Stein castle was built 700 metres above sea level.
