St. Paul
The St. Paul abbey is the intellectual centre of the Lavant valley. It celebrated the 900th anniversary of its founding in the near past. In the first document the year of its founding is 1091.
The library of the abbey houses one of the most important collections of books in Austria. The first printed work of Gutenberg is also owned by the abbey. The treasury of the abbey's museum has numerous valuable art treasures. A peculiarity of St. Paul is the "Mostland Express", which takes guests of the region of fruit wines to their destination so they can become acquainted with specialities of local pubs.
