Wolfsberg Bad St. Leonhard |
Bad St. Leonhard
Bad St. Leonhard was declared a town in 1325. The town reached the height of its economic life in the 15th and 16th Century when locally mined iron, gold and silver ore played a significant role. Nowadays timber processing and steel metallurgy is important. The name Bad St. Leonhard derives from the sulphuric springs having a healing effect that can be found here. Valuable architectural relics can also be found here, the most significant being: three-nave gothic style basilica, the Lichtengraben castle and the castle in Wiesenau.
