Industry, agriculture
Aglriculture and the alimentary industry have historic traditions. They already dealt with producing grapes, olives and grain in 1000 B.C. The town is still characterised by agriculture and light industry built upon it: animal breeding, production of cheese, viticulture-viniculture, production of olives and olive oil. The clothes industry, shoe production, ceramic industry and the production of chinaware is also significant.
