Agriculture
The arable land of Várpalota and its environs did not produce a high yield. In spite of this agriculture was always a significant source of income for inhabitants.
The "Jó Szerencsét" Termelőszövetkezet (Good Luck Cooperative) founded in 1960 produced good results in rearing sheep, keeping beef cattle and fattening bulls on commission. As a result of the change in regime 3 joint ventures, 5 private ventures and about 900 farmers deal with agriculture.
