The castle at present |
 The present appearance, internal-external state is extremely mixed.
The castle reconstruction programme was prepared in 1999.
In 1990 the monument was declared a part of the National Heritage.
It is now owned by the Hungarian State and is in the management of the Property Directorate of the Treasury. The town self-government has free right of use of the building.
The goal is for one of Hungary's most well conserved medieval castles to welcome guests in a renewed environment following the complete reconstruction of the monument: so that it will be an attractive location for local history exhibitions, high standard events, performances and conferences. The Thuri castle is a real attraction for visitors.
