Natural endowments
The Kremnica hills form a part of the Western Carpathian mountains.
Its highest point is the Flochova peak.
Thermal water rises from 900 m depth which is used in the thermal beach operated in the town.
Sights, places of interest
The main square is the centre of town life.
The middle class houses built in the 14th Century and have been rebuilt several times in the meantime. In the middle of the square we can see a baroque fountain and a plague column also in baroque style. The Franciscan monastery and chapel, the coin museum, the Town Hall, the Mint and the gate of the square are the most significant buildings of the main square. The gate and the town wall were built in the 15th Century.
The castle of Kremnica is an ensemble of medieval buildings built in the 13th-15th Century. The church of Saint Katalin is dominant with a look-out in its tower.
The Skalka skiing centre is in the middle of the Kremnica mountains.
