Sant'Elpidio a Mare
History of the settlement
One of the richest towns in historical and cultural relics in Marche province. Its origins go back to roman times.
In 1250 hey received permission from emperor Federico II to build a port.
In 1377 the town was destroyed. They rebuilt it and shortly it played a prominent role in the life of the region.
In 1828 Pope Leo XII. declared it a town.
