History of the settlement
The first settlers dealing with mining arrived to the mountains around the river around the 10th Century and found gold there.
Kremnica was in its golden age in the 14th-15th Century during the reign of Róbert Károly from the Anjou house. In 1328 he made the miner settlement called Cremnychbana a town and founded the mint.
Gold mining completely ceased in the 1970s.
