Várpalota has a medium sized railway station on the Székesfehérvár-Celldömölk main line suitable for passenger and goods traffic.
The railway station is situated on the southern part of the town about 1 km from the centre.
There are direct trains to Budapest, Szombathely, Pécs and Hegyeshalom, but changing in Székesfehérvár or Veszprém any part of Transdanubia can be reached. Favoured resorts on the Balaton and places for excursions in the Bakony can be comfortably reached in a short time.
The station arranges small goods traffic on commission from MM Cargo Kft.
