Tourist tracks of the East Bakony encompass the district with the castle of Várpalota at the centre.
Excursion routes are abundant in monuments, natural beauty, but the Bakony itself is also rich in sights to see.
The red tourist route leads from behind the Thuri castle to the Bakony through the Várvölgy (Castle valley) to a medieval monument, the ruins of Pusztapalota.
Római-fürdő (Roman bath) is a favoured place for excursions in the Bakony at the Galya brook about 14 km in the direction of Tés.
