Flora and fauna
Flora and fauna of the town and its environs is defined by its geographical location and its climate. On the Bakony part there is dolomite cliff grass, forests with ivy , karst-juniper and oak. It has numerous protected plants like feather grass and Hungarian pear. Its fauna is also varied. Red deer, roe deer, boar, badger, fox and pheasant are numerous in this area, but numerous small mammals and rare birds can also be found. Many protected or endangered permanent or migrating birds can be seen around the ponds.
The Burokvölgy Nature Protection Territory can be found on the Tés plateau with more than 60 species of plants and some 140 species of animals.
