Council system
The first council elections were held in Hungary, so in Várpalota as well on 22nd October 1950. This was an event of historic significance for Hungarian public administration. The Minister of the Interior made the following provisions for the unification of Várpalota and Inota villages and their development into a town from 21st October 1951: "I incorporate Inota village together with its whole territory from Fejér county to Veszprém county and unite it with Várpalota village. A town must be formed from the unified villages with the provision name of Várpalota."
