Choral society
The first adult male choir was founded in our town under the name Iparos Dalkör (Craftsmen's Singing Circle). Its members were miners and craftsmen.
After the founding of the Jó Szerencsét Reading Circle's choir in 1928 this choir split in two and a separate Iparos Dalkör (Craftsmen's Singing Circle) and Bányász Énekkar (Miners' Choir) worked on. The outbreak of the war put an end to the operation of the choirs. In 1956 Gyula Vass organized a male choir from remaining members of the two choirs. In 1958 a women's choir was founded. In 1959 the two choirs operated as a mixed choir.
