At the beginning of the nineties the Hungarian aluminium industry was in a crisis. The price of electric energy drastically increased, the Hungarian-Soviet aluminium agreement was terminated. The fact that the Inota Aluminium Furnace remained as the only one in Hungary can mainly be thanked to some leaders with a calling. As a result of their fight Inota Aluminium Co. Ltd. was declared strategically necessary.
