In 1951 the Miner School, predecessor of the present Jenő Faller Vocational School, was founded together with a hostel for 160 students to provide the necessary experts.
Following the nationalization of denominational schools in the Summer of 1948 a primary school for boys and a primary school for girls was organized in the existing school buildings. As a result of the rapid increase in the number of inhabitants new primary schools were built. This is how the settlement has eight primary schools.
In 1959 the grammar school was established within the frame of the 12-form school. It has been in its present location since 1963 and received the name György Thuri.
